Accountable for the planning, direction, organization, implementation and monitoring of the Museum’s short and long-term vision and mission as it pertains to the Museum’s visitor experience. Ensure the development of innovative and dynamic interpretive, learning and multimedia strategies to enrich visitor experiences and establish activities to broaden the Museum’s audience base. Leads a team of Directors and Managers to deliver Branch activities of the highest calibre (frontline visitor services, security, digital media, creative development, scenography, and learning).
Oversee the Visitor Engagement Branch:
Direct the development of innovative and dynamic interpretive, learning and multimedia strategies to enrich visitor experiences and establish activities to broaden the Museum’s audience base;
Integrate safe and responsive visitor operations into Museums’ experience;
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary degree from a recognized university in Museology, Humanities, Public Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or related field in Museology or an equivalent combination of education and of work experience in a similar organization;
Bilingual in French and English (CBC);
Expecting a minimum of 15 years of extensive experience in senior leadership positions;
Management within a complex, unionized and multidisciplinary environment and providing leadership in the customer service and/or operation of a large organization, preferably in a heavily used public facility;
Planning, development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects;
Expecting a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in customer and visitor services.
Compensation: $138,480 to $190,410
