What is Interpretation? While no single definition can capture the vibrant Canadian community of practice, one of the earlier definitions in the field emerged in Canada during our association’s electric early days and is still used today: | "Heritage interpretation is any communication process designed to reveal meanings and relationships of cultural and natural heritage to the public, through first-hand involvement with an object, artifact, landscape or site." (Interpretation Canada, 1976) |
Our independent non-profit association is a community of interpreters from across Canada and beyond. We are completely volunteer run, by interpreters just like you.
