    Thanks, Ed!
We had this forum available when we first shifted over to this website, but it didn't get used, and we eventually removed it because it was a bit embarrassing to have empty discussion forums.

We didn't do a very good job of promoting it to our members, so it's hard to know if that's the only reason it wasn't used, or if there are other factors.

I like your idea of 'topic seeding'.  Want to start?  Any ideas for topics you'd like to see discussions about?

It might be more an issue of knowing it exists, and getting some initial proof of whether or not engagement is worthwhile. Until this morning, this wasn't even on my radar.

Interestingly, there are a number of other groups I'm part of that are revisiting the idea of forums, primarily for more focussed discussions and explorations. perhaps a survey of topics of interest and then some topic seeding might start the conversation? I find it helpful if there are some already existing subject areas and queries.

We've had this forum feature available on our website for a while now, but it hasn't seen much use.  We're wondering if it's actually useful for people - are forums irrelevant in the age of social media?

If you find this valuable, please start a topic - that's the best way to let us know that you appreciate this feature being offered.

If this isn't useful - or could be more useful - please use this thread to tell us how we can better use this forum feature to help our members connect with each other.
