Explore Winnipeg Day

The ultimate exploration of all that is Winnipeg!

Max 30 participants

Starts at 9:00 a.m.

Meet at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Note: a significant amount of walking in the morning is required for this experience. If this is a barrier for you, please select one of the two other experiences.

Start your morning off with a brisk 20 minute walk to the Exchange District National Historic Site, one of the most iconic and vibrant neighborhoods in Winnipeg. Along the way, an Interpreter from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights will highlight key Winnipeg sites, buildings, cool shops, and trendy eats.

Enjoy a historic walking tour, delivered by The Exchange District Biz.

Nicknamed the “Chicago of the North”, the Exchange features massive stone and brick warehouses, elegant terracotta-clad buildings, narrow angled streets as well as cobblestone paths and alleyways. Take a walk on the wild side and explore the dark secrets that made Winnipeg the “Wickedest City in the Dominion." See a different side of Winnipeg’s history with drunk mayors, angry mobs, and even a few executions.

Lunch time is at the hip and happening Fools & Horses coffee shop, where you will be treated to soup, sandwich and dessert.

In the afternoon, take part in “The Best First Thing to do in Winnipeg” and ride in style on a historically-inspired trolley while tour Manitoba’s capital. With the
Winnipeg Trolley Company, you will experience the very best sights and stories Winnipeg has to offer on the award-winning Heart of a Nation sightseeing tour. Learn how a local team became history’s first Olympic hockey champions, Winnipeg’s shocking connection to James Bond, and much, much more. Humorous and engaging, this tour will help you discover what to explore while visiting our city!
